Trevor Hall

I listen to this album all the time. One thing I can say with absolute certainty is that no matter how I am feeling, I find the songs on Trevor Hall’s self titled work uplifting and inspiring many times to the point of tears. Very similar to a yoga class. Never have I said “dang I wish I’d never taken that class.” I overheard the following statement in a yoga studio after class, “Trevor Hall makes me love God more.” I can’t think of a better way to describe this music.

Trevor Hall is yoga in a musical form. All of the beauty and meaning of our yoga is channeled through the artist and this work. The messages are of love for the divine, love for one another, peace and stillness. The delivery is a collage of reggae, kirtan styles, folk and rock & roll. The album features the vocal work of Matisyahu on the track Unity.

This album is so heavy and so light at the same time. It will make you sob during asana practice and bring out the teenager in you while driving home from class. The message is so simple and so clear and delivered by a South Carolina born man in his twenties. Trevor Hall is our native son bringing us a universal message of peace and unity.

The question is, when does Trevor follow this incredible work? As for me, I can’t wait. Bring the love Trevor Hall, the world needs it.

“We call it by many names but there is only one truth.” ~Trevor Hall
