This is a grassroots, donation-based studio for everyone in the community. Warm Yoga, Flow Yoga, Baby Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga for Men, and Meditation.

We haven’t had the opportunity to visit this studio just yet, but below are some fantastic pictures of this incredible community space. Enough said, this place is not to be missed!

Charleston Power Yoga is a Baptiste Power Yoga Affiliate studio located on King Street in Historic Downtown Charleston South Carolina and just another reason to love this fabulous city. The studio is tucked into this up and coming trendy downtown neighborhood.

Personal empowerment literally flows out of this Shakti infused studio. This studio is unique with so many interesting historical features. The staff and the community are friendly and receptive. I loved every minute of my visit from the standing split transition to handstand all the way to the refreshing cold lavender towel placed on my eyes during Savasana. Charleston Power Yoga is awesome! If you are in the Low Country on business or vacation, please take the time to visit this studio and renew your personal power.

If you work up an appetite during your visit to CPY, no problem, just around the corner you will find the Hominy Grill and a plate of world famous shrimp and grits! Now is the time to tap into your personal power, at Charleston Power Yoga.

Studios – one studio capable of supporting 25+ practitioners

Studio Flooring – beautiful cork tile flooring.

Amenities – 2 restrooms, both full (with showers). The facilities are very clean and completely stocked with all your shower needs including, towels, natural soap, shampoo & conditioner (very nice and well thought out). Mats and sweat towels available.

Boutique – small boutique but definitely adequate and carrying all you might need for

your yoga. The focus is definitely quality yoga not yoga product consumerism.

Child Care – N/A

Parking – plenty of metered street parking in front (could be limited during peak city hours) but you will find a nice sized lot behind the studio and a back entrance.

Vibration – in one word, empowering! Other words that work; alive, inspired, complete, experienced, motivational, relevant.

Holy Cow Yoga Center

Holy Cow Yoga & Holistic Center is a must for all yogis traveling to and around the Charleston area. This is the oldest yoga studio in Charleston, with the wide variety of classes offered at Holy Cow, everyone can find the “right” class. All of the instructors at Holy Cow are well qualified, in fact nearly all of the desk and boutique employees are certified yoga instructors. So needless to say you will be in good hands at Holy Cow.

The atmosphere at Holy Cow Yoga is one of strong community and dedication. This is a true home-town yoga studio, lots of pre-class conversation and laughing. The studio is warm, friendly & welcoming. The facilities are clean, the boutique is extensive and you will even find a terrific reading library in case you have a little time to kill. In addition, several different types of bodywork are available through Holy Cow Yoga. I attended Holy Cow’s Bust Your Asana Class. The instructor, Deborah Kuafmanwas knowledgeable with a calm, centered and strong demeanor. The class was challenging but approachable for most practitioners. I left feeling great!

The location of Holy Cow is very convenient, between James Island and West Ashley. There are plenty of great eateries and cool stores around Holy Cow and the studio shares its plaza with Earth Fare. Great coffee and ice cream can also be obtained in the same shopping center. Don’t miss this Charleston treasure while in the Holy City!

Studios – 2 studios (one large and one smaller), large capable of supporting 50+ students, small capable of supporting 25+ students.

Studio Flooring – large studio is cork tile flooring, small studio is laminate flooring.

Amenities – 2 studios, mats & towels available, two clean, nice restrooms (no shower), 2 bodywork rooms, one fantastic reading library, beautiful and inspirational decor.

Boutique – excellent boutique offering just about everything, including; books, CD’s, mats, prayer beads, blocks, props, apparel of all types (including men’s clothing!).

Childcare – N/A

Parking – plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot

Vibration – Holy Cow is the oldest studio in Charleston. The vibe is one of community and strong foundation. There is a feeling of service and deep tradition at Holy Cow. The teachers and staff bring a welcoming, friendly, confidence to the studio. I will return to Holy Cow every time I visit the Holy City.
